The movement of men for equality, despite being a very recent phenomenon, has more than forty years of life in València. This movement has had a trajectory with many ups and downs. After the appearance of some protagonists that are going to open the way in the Valencian social scene, we find ourselves with a period where there are men who maintain the embers of those beginnings. From a qualitative research done by the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, the voices of some of the men who maintained, between 1995 and 2010, the flame of a movement that has had very hesitant beginnings, structured in the light of the analysis of the frameworks for the interpretation of movements. And as a social movement, men for equality develop new codes of behaviour and meaning. The results show us the necessity, now more than ever, of the necessary change of masculinity in the current Spanish and Valencian society.
